It is only with the heart that we see rightly

"It is only with the heart that we see rightly.
What is essential is invisible to the eye."
Antoine de Saint-Exupery (The little prince)

Tender loving care
A goal, a mission, a curse?
Some only are free
While others are born to nurse?

For the French, ‘innate’
Translates as ‘spontaneous’.
Well is that a fact?
Have we got it wrong or have they?

The French can’t just screw:
They must dress it up in rose.
‘Je t’adore , my love
until the very day I die.’

I am not convinced.
This seems too convenient,
It washes off guilt,
It justifies screwing.

What’s to justify?
Who told us that it was wrong
To meet someone and
Just really want to do it?

So what’s the difference
Between screwing and caring?
Is the one innate
And the other just the horn?

We care and we screw:
We don’t care and we still screw.
We screw and we care:
We don’t screw and we still care.
We care just because?
We screw just because?

It doesn’t matter
Why we choose to take good care –
It’s just what we do.
It doesn’t matter
Who or why we choose to screw –
It’s just what we do.
